AOI Environmental Excellence Award
EVRAZ Portland was presented with the Associated Oregon Industries (AOI) Environmental Achievement Award on December 7, 2016. CRETE has assisted EVRAZ with SPCC, stormwater management, and shoreline cleanup design. CRETE designed the shoreline cleanup, capping, stabilization, and habitat enhancement for EVRAZ. This project was implemented in 2015 and 2016 for a one-third mile stretch of the Willamette River. The official announcement can be viewed using the link below:
Congratulations to EVRAZ.
ISS Remedial Design
CRETE will be providing ISS remedial design services for cleanup of a former wood treating site in Bellingham, WA. For this particular site, in situ solidification using a cement-slag mixture was selected based on treatability testing. CRETE is the leading provider of ISS design services in the Northwest. CRETE has the technical and regulatory experience necessary to implement these unique and complex cleanup projects. Our experience developing construction bid documents for ISS and other projects will ensure that competitive bids are received and change orders are minimized.
CRETE Supporting New Terminal Gate Complex Project
CRETE is providing property acquisition, environmental site assessment, and cleanup design support for a new gate complex at Terminal 3&4 at the Port of Tacoma. CRETE is supporting Moffatt & Nichol, building on previous collaborations at the Ports of Tacoma and Seattle. Work will commence in late 2016 with design in 2017 and cleanup and development in 2018.
CRETE Awarded Port of Seattle Terminal 30 Contract
CRETE was awarded the Remedial Design contract to address bulk fuel terminal impacts at the Port of Seattle Terminal 30 intermodal container facility. CRETE will be designing a groundwater remediation system 20 years after CRETE Principals designed and implemented a similar system that successfully cleaned up nearby Pier 34. The team brings process design, permitting, and contracting experience and will be coordinating extensively with the tenant to minimize disruption to this active terminal. Other team members include Moffatt & Nichol and EMB Consulting.
Tier II Stormwater Corrective Measure
CRETE recently completed the design and permitting for an Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Tier II Stormwater Corrective Measure at a steel manufacturing facility in Portland, Oregon. Construction of an 850-foot bioretention and infiltration basin, a new pump station, and associated upgrades to existing storm sewers commenced last week. Work will be complete by the end of June to satisfy the Tier II implementation deadline.
