About Crete Consulting
The CRETE principals met in the mid-1990’s while working on the Wyckoff Wood Treating site cleanup and Terminal 5 intermodal container terminal redevelopment on Elliott Bay. Since that time, we have continued to work on environmental cleanup projects that are notable for their size and complexity.
Prior to starting Crete Consulting Inc., Mr. Byers was the Lead Engineer for the western region of a large diversified environmental consulting firm and the Project Manager for design and implementation of one of the region’s largest cleanup projects. He has been providing consulting and engineering services for civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects in the northwest for over 20 years where his success has been the result of a clear understanding of technical issues and how to achieve project goals. Mike has a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a Master’s from the University of Washington.
After completing his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Grant spent 16 years at RETEC in progressively responsible positions and obtained his MBA in 2001. He successfully managed, diversified, and grew the Seattle operation for 4 years. After the firm was acquired, Grant returned his focus to managing large, complex projects that include investigation, cleanup, redevelopment, and liability management for upland and sediment sites. He has a strong background in the full array of technical and regulatory issues related to cleanup sites, as well as business approaches to sustainability.
