Soil Excavation at Renewable Fuels Expansion Project, Tacoma

Soil excavation in preparation of the Targa Sound Terminal Renewable Fuels Expansion Project began on September 10, 2012. CRETE designed the soil excavation/stabilization, is managing construction, and is conducting confirmation sampling. A blend of magnesium oxides and calcium phosphates is mixed in-place into soil to prevent leaching of lead and cadmium, thus reducing transport and disposal costs.
